Typical gastronomy

Cetara is famous for its culinary tradition based mainly on fish-based foods such as tuna and anchovies. Among the main courses is spaghetti with colatura di alici, an amber liquid made from anchovies fished in the Gulf of Salerno between the end of March and the beginning of July,  left to mature (4/5 months) in wooden barrels, known as  a “terzigno”. The method passed down by the Cetara fishermen from father to son.
